Pratyahara | Ambient Modular Synth Performance with Visual Art

Pratyahara is a Sanskrit word for withdrawing of the senses from the outer world to focus inward, in order to attune oneself with ones true purpose. The purpose of this act is to accelerate the blossoming of the soul.

I borrowed this composition technique from Steve Reich, who has been an wonderful influence on my work over the past few months. Essentially I composed a melody, and then released it one note at a time. Then after releasing that melody in full, I switched to a different melody and dig the same thing in reverse.

Great fun, and I like how this one came out. I hope you do, too! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. (you need to click the title of this blog post to access the comments).
